Mobile Payments Provider Accumulate Raises First Round

Today, another mobile payment company, Swedish Accumulate announced that it has received a first round of capital (amount undisclosed). Yesterday it was oneTXT who announced their seed capital round. The capital, Accumulate says, will be used to further develop Flexion and Mobile Everywhere, its two technology products, as well as marketing them to new territories. Flexion, is the company’s payment platform, which enables flexible pricing (free trial, bundles, games club, for example) and control of access rights for mobile applications and games. Mobile Everywhere, its security product, permits credit card purchases and person-to-person money transfers among other functions.

Personally, I am really astonished about the amount of mobile payment processors service providers that are on the rise these days. Many highly developed markets, in terms of mobile services, have been able to provide mpayment solutions for years, however most services have never gone beyond the crazy frog/ringtone hell/crappy java games offerings that companies like Jamba and the likes have been offering since the early days of GSM.
Having conquered this step, however now many markets would have matured for something that makes more business sense on the long term, and provides more perspective for launching high-value content services that may be charged sing your mobile phone.
Soon, we will be looking into what types of mpayments will work in the future, and which won’t - as well as a general market overview of the current providers in this field.
